Section 33 of the European Union REACH regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 places every supplier under the obligation to notify consumers if so requested whether substances of very high concern (SVHC) are known to be present in the product. We take this obligation very seriously. The candidate list (ECHA database) of substances of very high concern is sporadically adapted to the current state of the art. We swiftly respond to these changes to the candidate list. According to information available to us, some HOBART products have components containing lead (CAS 7439-92-1) as an alloying element, e.g. in bronze, in concentrations larger than 0.1 mass %. The use of this substance complies with the valid legal stipulations. If used as intended, this equipment poses no environmental or health threat. Safety instructions are not necessary.
