PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA AND CONFIDENTIALITY

It is possible to use our website without specifying any personal data. This may result in deviating regulations for the use of individual services on our website. In this case, such regulations shall be explained separately below. SERVER DATA

In general, you are able to visit our website without providing any personal data, for example if you only wish to obtain information about our products and access the corresponding pages. Each instance of access to our website or a file stored on our website is logged. This storage is undertaken for internal system-related and statistical purposes. The following is logged:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Website you are visiting us from (referrer URL)
  • Website you are visiting
  • Date and time of access
  • Your internet protocol (IP) address

In certain cases, however, we need your name and your address and other information so that we can provide the required services, process orders or respond to queries, for example. This additional personal data are only collected and stored if you voluntarily provide such information, for example as part of a request, registration, application to become an employee or supplier or when placing an order and during its processing.

PURPOSE, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

If you provide us with personal data, we use it solely to answer your questions and follow through with service requests (orders, participation in contests, etc.). We also use your data to give you access to certain information or products as part of controlling access to the supplier portal and the use of information and communications systems as well as for advertising purposes.

We shall only collect, process and use the personal data you provide online for the purposes communicated. Your personal data shall only be disclosed or sent to third parties where necessary for the purpose of executing the request/processing, etc. or if you have previously consented to your data being disclosed. Third parties are not entitled to use this data for other purposes. We of course respect your decision should you not want your personal data to be used for supporting our customer relationships (especially for direct marketing or for market research purposes).

With respect to online credit card payments, your credit card data shall be recorded, stored and only disclosed to the companies involved in the payment process. HOBART GmbH does not store credit card data.

We disclose personal data about our customers where we are legally required to do so, or if and insofar as we are obligated to do so by a court decision or if disclosure is required to execute or protect our General Terms and Conditions or other agreements. The same shall apply with respect to the storage of data. No data is disclosed for economic purposes.

Our employees and the service companies hired by us are bound by a duty of confidentiality and must comply with the provisions of the relevant data protection laws (German Federal Data Protection Act [BDSG] and in future the EU General Data Protection Regulation). Access to personal data by our employees is limited to those employees who need that data to perform their professional duties.

DELETION

Stored personal data is deleted you withdraw your consent to such storage, if knowledge of such data is no longer necessary to fulfil the intended purpose of such storage or if the storage of such data is not permitted for other legal reasons unless statutory retention regulations preclude deletion, in which case data shall be blocked rather than deleted.

INFORMATION

We are happy to inform you of data stored relating to you upon written request. We endeavour to take all possible technical and organisational measures to store your personal data in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties. When communicating by email, complete data security cannot be guaranteed. We therefore recommend you send confidential information by post.

It may be the case when you visit our website that we store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small text files sent to your browser by a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

Our website provides you the option to subscribe to our newsletter. We use this newsletter to regularly inform you of the products and services we offer. You need a valid email address to receive our newsletter. We will verify the email address you provide to check whether you are the actual owner of the email address provided and/or that the owner of said email address is authorised to receive the newsletter. We shall store your IP address and the date and time of your registration when you sign up for our newsletter. No additional data are collected by us. The data collected shall exclusively be used in relation to our newsletter. No data are forwarded to third parties. Furthermore, we do not match the data collected with information that may be collected by other components of our website. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.

USE OF YOUTUBE COMPONENTS WITH ENHANCED DATA PROTECTION MODE

Our website uses components (videos) from YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, a company owned by Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Specifically, we use YouTube’s “Advanced privacy” option. When you visit a web page on our website with an embedded video, a connection is made to YouTube's servers, which then instructs your browser to display the content on that website.

According to YouTube, in “Advanced privacy” data is only sent to YouTube’s servers if you watch the video. If you are logged in to YouTube at that time, this information is allocated to your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out of your account prior to visiting our website.

USE OF GOOGLE MAPS

Our website uses Google Maps components from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). Google places a cookie each time you access Google Maps in order to process the user preferences and data when displaying the page. This cookie is not usually deleted by closing the browser. Instead it expires after a certain period of time unless you have manually deleted it prior to this.

If you do not agree to your data being processed, you have the option to disable the Google Maps service, thereby preventing data from being sent to Google. To do so, you must disable the JavaScript function on your browser. However, we would point out that, in this case, you will not be able to use Google Maps or may only be able to use it to a limited extent.

USE OF GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). Google Analytics uses "cookies” that are stored on your computer to help analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie, for example the time, place and frequency of you visiting the website, including your IP address, shall be sent to a Google server in the US and stored there. Our website uses Google Analytics with an IP anonymisation feature. In this case, your IP address is first truncated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and sent to Google in an anonymised form.

Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, we would point out that this may result in you not being able to use all the features of our website.

Furthermore, Google provides a disabling option for the most commonly used browsers, which gives you greater control over what data are recorded and processed by Google. If you enable this option, no information on your visit to the website shall be sent to Google Analytics. However, enabling this option does not prevent information being sent to us or other web analysis services we may be using. If and insofar as you make use of external links provided on our website, this Privacy Policy shall not extend to these links. When providing links, we strive to ensure that such links comply with our data protection and security standards. However, we have no control over other providers’ compliance with data protection and security provisions. As such, we would request that you consult the websites of other providers’ for their specific privacy policies.

PUBLICATION OF JOB LISTINGS/ONLINE JOB ADVERTISEMENTS

Your application data shall only be recorded and processed for the purposes of carrying out the application procedure electronically. Should your application involve the conclusion of an employment contract, the data you provided with respect to the usual organisational and administrative process may be stored in your personnel file, taking into account the applicable statutory provisions.

In the event that your application is unsuccessful, your data shall automatically be deleted three months as of notification that your application has been rejected. This shall not apply where legal requirements (for example the burden of proof pursuant to the German Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz [AGG]) stipulate a longer retention period is required or if you have expressly agreed to a longer retention period in our database of prospective employees.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to amend our security and data protection measures if and insofar as this is necessary due to technical developments. In such cases, we shall modify our Privacy Policy accordingly. As such, please note the current version of our Privacy Policy.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

As a rule, persons below the age of 18 should not send personal data to us without the consent of their parents or legal guardians.
