HOBART employees make huge donation: EUR 75,000 donated for war victims in Ukraine

HOBART employees donated EUR 75,000 for Ukrainian refugee aid under the banner “Stop the war”.

Following an appeal from the General Management, HOBART employees donated almost EUR 25,000 to Ukrainian refugees. The General Management then tripled the sum donated by employees, and gave it to various aid organisations.

Offenburg, Germany – The appeal from the General Management hit the mark: “Let’s together make a donation to help people who have lost everything through no fault of their own.” The HOBART team really showed that they wanted to help. The participation was strong: one week after the appeal, a sum of almost EUR 25,000 had been collected.

Local organisations also benefit from the donations
Many of the 1,100 employees took part and donated large sums. “The largest single donation was EUR 1,000,” says Manfred Kohler, Vice President Sales and Manufacturing, “and overall we were delighted with people’s willingness to donate.” As announced, the General Management tripled the amount so that a total of EUR 75,000 could be transferred to various aid organisations. Along with large aid groups such as "Aktion Deutschland Hilft” (ADH), the German Red Cross and the "SOS Kinderdörfer", HOBART also helped smaller local agencies. This included the employee-recommended "OPEN Verein" in Freiburg, which supplies hospitals and doctors in the Ukrainian war zone with medicines, tools and equipment. Another beneficiary was "Flying Hope e.V." where hobby pilots fly seriously ill children and their families for free. Currently they are flying injured Ukrainian children from countries such as Poland to Germany.

“The entire HOBART staff is very upset by the terrible events and hopes that the war will end soon,” says Managing Director Silvio Koch.
