I‘ve always been fascinated by machines; I built a jet pump as a fountain for a power station in
2005. Seeing HOBART dishwashers rekindled my interest. While HOBART sets its priority on innovation, efficiency and environmental sustainability, I‘m an artist so I‘m more interested in aesthetics. I‘m very fortunate in that I can play with shapes and colours without having to worry about functionality – I only have to make sure that it looks the part. My HOBart designs have straight edges and rounded curves framing the inner and outer contours of the appliance, the colours – whether solid, diffuse or speckled – representing energy in hot and cold processes. You might look at it as my freestyle visual interpretation of a dishwasher.
