In the times of Covid-19, the world has turned upside down. Nothing is like it used to be.
Or has the world turned upside down long before the pandemic, and Covid-19 showed us what is important and what isn‘t? Probably every one of us needs to answer this question for themselves. But one thing is for sure: Being jolted awake and forced to slow down gives us the chance to look at things from another viewpoint and to remember the values which have gotten out of focus. Values like respect for people and the environment.

Viktoria Wasinger
Born in 1986 in Kazakhstan and grew up there, Viktoria Wasinger attended university in her home country and earned a degree as an "artist and graphic designer". Before coming to Germany, she lived in the United Arab Emirates and taught arts, among other jobs. Nowadays, the artist and her three children live in Auenheim near Kehl in the Baden region of Germany. Viktoria Wasinger not only uses oil paint on canvas, as in this HOBart painting, but also a wide range of other techniques and paints, such as acrylic, pencil, charcoal or watercolours.
